Structural Designer

My agency client is looking for an experienced Structural Designer to join their temporary build team, onsite in Chicago.

The agency specialize within the retail space, so think designing and building FSDU’s, POP and retail displays. 

You will be a Structural Designer who has previous experience and proven techniques with building temporary displays which can withstand often heavy products. As well as being curious, creative, innovative and keen to develop new build techniques. 

Key Responsibilities

Be proficient in using CAD software to engineer temporary build solutions 

Have previous experience testing and designing components for strength, durability and safety before finalizing prototypes

Be an effective communicator

Work with the wider production and creative teams to design and build pioneering design solutions 

Recognize the proper conditions for different joinery techniques, including mechanical joints (tabs, slots, locks etc.) and finished joints (twin stick, glue, stitches etc.)

Have at least 5 years experience in Temporary POP Design

Software proficiency: ArtiosCAD, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Smartsheet
